Company History:

Data2Logistics freight bill processing business was initially formed as a result of the merger of two of the nation's most successful transportation, audit, information and payment services, Barry & Lloyd and CTI Logistics, Inc. (CTI).

CTI was operated as a successful independent company until the merger with Barry & Lloyd. In February of 1992, Barry & Lloyd's outstanding systems and procedures led to the acquisition of the company by National Processing Company (NPC). After the acquisitions of Northwest Traffic Associates and InTraCon in 1997, NPC merged our freight services division with NPC's Corporate Services division to form CorPay Solutions, Inc. In 2002, Wescara Freight Technologies and CorPay Solutions, Inc. were acquired by Platinum Equity to form Data2Logistics.

Icon Health & Fitness has been using Data2Logistics' services since 2002 and Data2Logistics has helped Icon convert several of its carriers to EDI and developed systems that standardize information flows between the shipper and its service providers. They have reduced the processing of paper bills, lowering fees, and enabled faster turnaround of freight bills.

I think there is underutilization' of technology, in the industry. When you get a stack of freight bills on your desk that is a foot and a half high ' it doesn't make sense not to get this stuff on the Web where you can see trends and resolve problems much easier. Freight payment systems are a familiar tool for shippers, new web based technology blending auditing and other financial reports are allowing a greater ability to use data. - Dan Walker, Assistant Controller Icon Health & Fitness

"Data2logistics has been instrumental in our cost containment of our railroad car fleet. In particular, two areas where substantial savings say it all:

Express Billing audit recovers more than $500,000
An international, medical manufacturing company shipping critical devices to hospitals, clinics and subsidiaries was concerned about billing errors hidden within thousands of express and overnight shipments. Data2Logistics was retained to audit express billing at the individual shipment level before any invoices were paid. In addition to finding real-time billing errors related to rates, duplicate billings and accessorial charges, Data2Logistics provided the client with necessary tools to track and recover refunds on service delivery guarantees for time-sensitive shipments.

In less than one year, Data2Logistics recovered more than $500,000 in express freight charges for this client. The company was so pleased with the Data2Logistics' customer service, technical support and audit results that it expanded the service to include all other modes of transportation.

Data analysis identifies packaging and shipping inefficiencies
One Data2Logistics client is a $6 billion worldwide provider of relational technology solutions to customers in a variety of industries and markets. Pre-Audit, Payment and Reporting Services delivered cost savings to this client through audit recoveries and automation of freight billing processes. In addition, the data analysis tool helped to significantly reduce freight costs.

The client was unnecessarily shipping many products in oversized, lightweight packaging. Using the Pre-Audit, Payment and Reporting Services Web-based reporting tool, the client identified those shipments and quantified the extra freight charges related to packaging. Armed with dimensional weight information and the resulting premium freight costs the client redesigned the packaging materials and achieved a substantial reduction in the cost for each re-packaged shipment.

Data2Logistics' data analysis tool provided the client with the critical information needed to implement a process improvement resulting in annual cost savings of well over $400,000. Total annual reduction in freight cost from audit recovery, labor savings and process improvements totaled approximately $2 million.
